Full Karnea registration includes: All convention activities, programming, seven scheduled meals, convention materials, Karnea T-Shirt. All other meals are on your own.

Arrival and Departure Plans for Karnea

Chapter delegates must complete a brief online training before arriving in Cleveland. During this training session, legislative rules are reviewed including how business is introduced and voted upon, and new legislation is reviewed. Each chapter must send three (3) elected voting delegates. This includes two (2) undergraduates and one (1) alumnus per chapter and colony.

The Karnea opening celebration begins at 6:30 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, July 31. Karnea concludes with the Karnea Banquet on Saturday, August 3. Please plan to depart Cleveland on Sunday, August 4. 

How Do I Reserve My Hotel Room?

Important Hotel Update (6/27/24):

We are aware that the Hilton Cleveland Downtown has reached capacity on several evenings throughout Karnea. We are excited at the tremendous response to the 2024 Karnea and are looking to help you find alternatives. 

The Holiday Inn Express Cleveland Downtown has provided us with a 20-room block on a first-come, first-served basis. This hotel is within a 10-12 minute walking distance from the Hilton Cleveland Downtown. 

Room rates are $179 per night, excluding taxes and fees. This is a special rate extended to Delta Tau Delta Karnea attendees. Downtown Cleveland (All within a 10-15 minute walk of Hilton Downtown Cleveland)

Parking is located at 1141 West 3rd St, Cleveland, OH 44114. Please note that when self-parking, there are convenient, reserved spots on the second level, especially for hotel guests. If unavailable, please feel free to park in any available, unmarked spot in the garage.

Volunteer Information

Early bird registration coverage for the lead chapter advisor or in their absence one official alumni delegate. Approval of alternate delegates must be confirmed by the central office. Official delegates should register during the early bird registration period. Registration costs higher than the early bird rate will be charged to the registrant.

For each approved alumni volunteer, half of each hotel night (maximum of four nights) will be reimbursed by the Fraternity. Reimbursement requests are to be submitted to the Central Office within 30 days of the close of Karnea.

Alumni volunteers are strongly encouraged to make their hotel reservations early and share a hotel room.

Dara Readus at the Central Office ( will keep a list of alumni seeking roommates. Please contact Dara if a roommate is needed to help reduce costs.

How Does Our Chapter Find Financial Support to Attend Karnea?

Undergraduates may find funding through the following:

  • Your chapter budget
  • The house corporation
  • An alumni board or association
  • Campus leadership/student activities – contact your Greek Advisor

Karnea is a time to recognize the accomplishments of students, chapters, volunteers, and alumni. All awards will be presented at the 2024 Karnea in Cleveland. Any member in good standing may submit a nomination.
