Ways to Give

Below are some of the most common ways you can support the Delta Tau Delta Educational Foundation. No matter how – or how much – you give, your generosity will make a difference in the lives of Delts.

Unrestricted gifts are among the most valuable to the Delta Tau Delta Educational Foundation because they allow us to allocate funds wherever the need is greatest, and to take advantage of unique opportunities as they arise. Your unrestricted contribution may be used to support costs associated with Ignite, The Charge, President and Advisors Retreat, Division Leadership Conferences, Karnea, and much more.

Directed/Restricted gifts allow you to designate your gift to a specific program, initiative, or strategic priority for Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. When you make a directed gift, you enjoy the satisfaction of knowing you are supporting a program that is personally meaningful to you and important to the Fraternity and its members.

Endowment gifts provide security over the long term by expanding the Fraternity’s permanent financial base and creating a predictable source of future income that ensures our ability to deliver top-notch educational programming to our members.

Types of Gifts

Cash gifts — the simplest and easiest gifts you can make — can be made through credit/debit card transactions, outright cash or personal checks, cashier’s checks, or money orders made payable to the Delta Tau Delta Educational Foundation.

Gifts of appreciated securities, stocks, and bonds — provide considerable tax advantages when transferred to the Foundation before they are sold. If you have held your securities for more than one year, your gift will help you save significantly on two types of taxes while making a greater impact for Delta Tau Delta. For stock transfer information please contact the Foundation at 317-284-0210.

Donor-Advised Fund Gifts — (DAFs) can be a tax-advantageous way to give. If you have a donor-advised fund with any provider, please consider making a distribution to Delta Tau Delta Educational Foundation.

Legacy Gifts —include deferred or planned gifts, bequests, life-income plans, and other options for your estate. Below are three resources brought to you free of charge to help you plan for the future. For information on how gift planning can provide transformative support to Delta Tau Delta and reduce estate taxes or even create an income stream for you and your loved ones, and earn valuable income-tax deductions — please contact the Foundation at 317-284-0210 or Foundation@Delts.org

Matching-Gift Programs — An easy way to double or even triple your donation to the Foundation. Such programs typically match all or a percentage of an employee’s (or their spouse’s) contributions to charitable organizations, making the employer a partner in your personal philanthropy. Simply obtain a matching-gift form from your employer’s personnel office, fill it out, and either provide it with your gift or submit it to your employer after your gift has been made. Gift Pledges — These are formal statements of intention to make a gift to the Delta Tau Delta Educational Foundation. With a pledge, you may complete your gift by making regular payments over time, allowing you to give more generously than you originally may have considered. What is more, each payment on your pledge is eligible for an income-tax charitable deduction.

Recurring Gifts — are an excellent way to make sure that you never forget to make your gift again! They also make it easier to make a larger gift by enabling you to spread your contribution over an extended period of time. Your gifts can be charged to either a debit or credit card on a monthly, quarterly, or yearly basis.
