Upsilon Chapter Rejoins RPI Fraternity Community After Reinstallation
Troy, N.Y. – Delta Tau Delta Fraternity celebrated the installation of the Upsilon Chapter at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on October 11, 2025. The ceremonies were held in the Hilton Garden Inn, Troy and marked the Fraternity’s return to campus with the initiation of 13 Founding Fathers. Originally founded in 1879, Upsilon will rejoin RPI’s thriving fraternity and sorority community. The expansion project began in Spring 2025 and was led by Trey Wallen (Colorado State University, 2023) and Hunter J. Brackett (Sam Houston State University, 2023).
The Ritual was performed by members of the Kappa Lambda Chapter from Keene State College, as well as Trey Wallen (Colorado State, 2023) John S. Alego III (Syracuse University, 1978) Evan Finklestein (Carnegie Mellon, 2014) and Jon Duraj (Wittenberg University 2009). Among those present were Delta Tau Delta International President, Anthony Albanese (American University, 1996). An impressive number of Upsilon alumni also returned to celebrate the chapter’s return, as this installation also lined up with RPI’s reunion and homecoming weekend.
Other attendees included Chapter Advisor Jeff “Fluke” Andritz (RPI, 2004), Regional Governor Evan Finkelstein (Carnegie Mellon, 2014), Director of Growth Nick Yarbrough (Baker University, 2017) and Senior Leadership Trey Wallen (Colorado State, 2023).
