Meet Our People

Hello, I am Shawn Powers, a junior at the University of Georgia. I come from a small town in Georgia named Auburn. As a first-generation college student, I knew little about the Greek system or whether it was right for me. This was until I was recruited by the Beta Delta brothers. Beta Delta quickly became my home, and my brothers, my family.

Recognizing my family's financial constraints, I pledged to contribute my time and talents to my chapter and the Fraternity as a whole. Since then, I have been elected secretary as a freshman and am currently in my second term as chapter president of Beta Delta.

During my first term, I received the President of the Year award from UGA's Greek Life Office and the Outstanding Chapter President Award from the national fraternity. I also brought home a Court of Honor for my chapter for the first time in over a decade. My undergraduate years have been dedicated to improving my chapter, and I would love the opportunity to extend that dedication to chapters across the country. Thank you, Go Dawgs, and Rah Delt!
