Multiculturalism, Empathy and the Four Fundamental Principles

Thursday, July 2, 2020

6:00 p.m. EDT

When considering the lived experiences of many in our communities who endure injustices incurred by personal and institutional racism, homophobia and transphobia, what can we offer in the way of understanding, caring and compassion? As we have seen recently—building powerful dialogue around discussions about personal experiences and the stories of people’s lives can help us to build empathy—each for the other. We will present a discussion where we ask a panel of Delt undergraduates and alumni from a variety of backgrounds about how their own experiences in the search for social and/or racial justice have shaped their lives—and how, through their journey toward personal courage, faith and power, they are able to learn and live their truth.
