Mike Perrin Named Men's Interim Athletic Director for Texas Longhorns

The University of Texas has appointed Houston attorney Mike Perrin (University of Texas, 1969) as Interim Men's Athletic Director through next August. Perrin was a Longhorn defensive end and a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete following his senior season. He has served on UT Austin's Council for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women and led fundraising campaigns at the law school. He has received the university's Presidential Citation and is a member of the school's Men's Athletic Hall of Honor. He gained prominence as a partner in multiple Houston law firms and currently owns Michael W. Perrin PLLC. He has also been a regular attendee at Houston Delt alumni monthly luncheons over the years.

Following the announcement in Austin yesterday, Perrin said "I'm honored to be asked by UT President Gregory Fenves to serve as Interim Athletic Director. I will focus on helping the university find the best fit in a future director while listening to all the needs of the Longhorn family. As a former UT student-athlete, longtime fan and volunteer with Texas athletics, I've worked closely with faculty, students, alumni, coaches and administrators. I will continue to do so in an effort to bring the Longhorn nation together".
