Jim's Consultant Story
Upon graduation, I was not sure what I wanted to do next. I was looking for direction. What kind of job was suited for me and where did I want to work? Enter Ken File. He was an inspirational Gamma Chi from Kansas State University working for the Central Office. Ken pushed me hard to apply to become a chapter leadership consultant.
It was one of the best decisions I made. Meeting and influencing wonderful undergraduates, occasionally under difficult situations, coupled with interacting with powerful alumni all over the country, proved an invaluable experience both personally and professionally.
People skills, decision making, business management (every chapter is its own little business which includes-recruiting, volunteerism, finance, training, leadership development, alumni relations, etc.), time management and team management were some of the more powerful tools I developed as a chapter consultant. Not to mention, they paid me to travel all over the country to experience and see things I will never do again!
