Hinch Leads Astros to American League Championship
In his third season as Houston Astros manager, A.J. Hinch (Stanford University, 1996), led his team to the American League championship and posted a 101-61 overall record during the regular season and two division championship series. The Astros previously were a National League club and had only played in the 2005 World Series during their existence before Major League Baseball shifted the franchise to the American League in 2013. The opening game of the 2017 World Series versus the Los Angeles Dodgers is October 24 at Dodgers Stadium.
