Delta Tau Delta Honored with NIC Awards of Distinction

FISHERS, IN — Delta Tau Delta Fraternity is proud to announce that two undergraduate members and one chapter have been recognized by the North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) with 2025 Awards of Distinction. The NIC Awards of Distinction honors individuals and groups who exemplify leadership, service, and fraternal values. These honors play a significant role in the advancement of the NIC mission and vision, as well as the fraternal industry as a whole

NIC Undergraduate Awards of Distinction

Zane Grizzle (University of Nebraska at Kearney, 2025)

Zane Grizzle has served as chapter president and director of recruitment for the Theta Kappa chapter. Under his leadership, the chapter has consecutively earned Hugh Shields Award for Chapter Excellence, achieved a 100% new member retention rate during his tenure, and achieved the highest GPA among all fraternities. On campus, Grizzle served as UNK Student Body Vice President, a new student enrollment leader, campus visit assistant, resident assistant, among other leadership positions. He maintains a 4.0 GPA while majoring in political science and double minoring in Spanish and public law and has been admitted to the Nebraska College of Law.

Greg Trezza (Sacred Heart University, 2025)

Greg Trezza served two consecutive terms as chapter president of the Iota Tau chapter, where he led the chapter to back-to-back Court of Honor Awards and Sacred Heart’s IFC Chapter of the Year recognition. During his presidency, the chapter’s academic performance improved, chapter membership increased, and Iota Tau made outstanding service and philanthropic contributions. Trezza also played a key role in expanding the chapter’s partnership with the Center for Family Justice. He was named Sacred Heart’s IFC President of the Year and Delta Tau Delta’s Region 1 Outstanding Chapter President. He will begin his professional career as a sales development representative at TEKsystems.

The NIC Awards of Distinction reflect the trade association’s mission to recognize excellence within member fraternities and highlight those who advance a positive fraternal experience. Delta Tau Delta congratulates Zane, Greg, and the men of Iota Tau on this incredible achievement and their commitment to lives of excellence.

NIC Chapter Award of Distinction

Iota Tau Chapter – Sacred Heart University

Iota Tau was one of five chapters across North America selected to receive the NIC Chapter Award of Distinction. The award honors chapters that operate at the highest level, integrating core values into chapter operations, member education, and campus and community impact.

Dante DeCesare, Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life at Sacred Heart University, stated, “Delta Tau Delta at Sacred Heart not only meets the standard expectations of a fraternity but actively works to redefine what it means to be an engaged, values-driven organization.”

The chapter has earned Sacred Heart University’s Chapter of the Year award, maintained one of the strongest academic records in the campus community, and maintain a long-standing partnership with the Center for Family Justice, by hosting the eleventh annual White Ribbon Campaign to raise awareness about domestic violence and to advocate for accountability and safe spaces for domestic violence victims.
