A Traveler's Salute

Posted by: Mike Slaughter - September 11, 2012

I travel quite a bit for the fraternity, and those travels are often filled with memorable moments. Perhaps one of the most memorable came this past weekend when, waiting for a flight at Chicago’s Midway airport, I overheard the USO announce the homecoming of a US Marine from Afghanistan. The resulting throng of people who crowded the gate to greet him was overwhelming. These were nearly all perfect strangers, in the midst of their own travels, who took time out of their day to honor one of America’s heroes. It was truly a moving experience.

Patriotism is alive and well here in America. Thank you to all those who serve our great nation, and also to those who take the time to honor our troops.
