Time Management Matrix |

OK, so let's get started! First, pick a given day of the week - preferably a day that you find you have a pretty full schedule (try to avoid Fridays and weekends for this part). To view a sample time matrix, click the following link Sample Time Matrix
Second, fill in the activity that you are doing at each hour of the day. Note that even if you are still sleeping at 6am, write into the text block "sleeping". See the example on the side to illustrate this step. Third, give some thought to the level of importance that this activity has on your success. If it's a high-profile class that you have to do well in, you may gauge the activity that you are doing in that hour as HIGH importance. Or if it's a time when you hang out with some of the other Delts over lunch, you may gauge the activity that you are doing in that hour as MEDIUM or LOW importance due to the fact that it does not demand as intense of your attention and focus on success as other times. See the example on the side to illustrate this step. OK, now that you have recreated your schedule for that day, and identified a level of importance for each hour of the day, let's look at your physical and mental levels of energy throughout the day. When do you feel most alive and alert? For those times, indicate in the chart your HIGH energy levels. On the other hand, when do you feel most sluggish and tired? Is it in the morning? In the afternoon? Right after one of your classes? For these times, indicate in the chart your MEDIUM to LOW levels of energy. See the example on the side to illustrate this step.
