On September 25, 2010, alumni and undergraduates of Epsilon Omega gathered to dedicate a new 5,000 sq ft shelter. The dedication was officiated by House Corporation President Kerry Myrick, key volunteers, undergraduate officers and special guest, Georgia Southern University President Brooks A. Keel.

Shelter Facts:

 

-          5,000 square feet.

-          Sleeps 12

-          Built apartment style (3 men per apartment)

-          Each apartment individually metered

-          42 x 30 multipurpose room

-          30 x 24 ft covered and screened rear patio off of the multipurpose room.

-          Built to withstand 110 mph hurricane winds.

-          ADA compliant

-          Cost - Approximately $650,000

The Loyalty and Centennial Development funds are the endowment funds of the Fraternity. These funds provide mortgage loans to house corporations for chapters acquiring, building or renovating their shelters. The majority of the Fraternity's shelters have received financial assistance at one time or another during their existence from these funds.

Each year beginning in November, the number of fraternity property claims spike. The most troubling part of it is a vast majority of all of the claims reported over the winter are avoidable. While members of your chapter and house corporation are enjoying Thanksgiving, don't neglect the property.
