Travis RockeyTravis Rockey was elected vice president at the Capital Karnea in 2010. His service to the Arch Chapter of the Fraternity includes his appointment as treasurer in 2003 to fill an unexpired term, election to treasurer in 2004, election to vice president in 2006, election to second vice president in 2008 and election to vice president in 2010. An active alumnus since 1990, he was among the original trainers of DTAA. He has served as a member of the Delta Mu house corporation at the University of Idaho; chapter advisor of Delta Mu; Southern Division vice president; chairman of the Publications Advisory Board; secretary of the Delta Tau Delta Education Foundation; Leadership Academy facilitator; chairman of the Alcohol Review Committee, and chairman of the Awards Committee from 2008 to 2010. He received the Alumni Achievement Award at the Los Angeles Karnea in 2002. Professionally, Rockey is president and chief operating officer of Evening Post Publishing Company, a privately held information and communications company with holdings in newspaper, television, real estate and forestry. In addition to his volunteer duties to Delta Tau Delta, Rockey has held leadership positions on the board of directors for newspaper, television and civic associations as well as a college foundation board. In 2010 he was inducted into the Citadel School of Business Administration’s Hall of Fame for Leaders of Principle. Rockey earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and master’s degrees from Indiana University and Winthrop University. Rockey lives in Charleston, S.C. with his wife, Gail. They have one son, J.R., who lives in Charlotte. In his spare time he gardens, plays golf and is mentoring his fourth student for two years at The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina. |
