Scott HeydtScott Heydt was elected director of academic affairs at the Sesquicentennial Karnea in 2008 and re-elected in 2010 at the Capital Karnea of Washington, D.C. Heydt received his bachelor’s degree in elementary education and psychology from Moravian College. Upon graduation, he served for two years as a Chapter Leadership Consultant, working primarily with colonies. During his second year, he authored the Colony Development Guide for colony operations as well as co-authored the D.E.L.T. colony chartering program. After leaving staff, he continued his service to the Fraternity as an Eastern Division Vice President of Academics, summer consultant trainer, and conference/Karnea facilitator. Professionally, Heydt worked for six years as a 5th grade classroom teacher in Central Bucks School District—the third largest district in Pennsylvania. With Central Bucks, he served on several curriculum-writing committees, developed an award-winning classroom leadership curriculum, and coordinated the District’s environmental programming and recycling task force. In August 2009, he received his masters of leadership and liberal studies degree from Duquesne University. He currently works as an adjunct professor of education for Holy Family University as well as an educational consultant with Thom Stecher and Associates. Heydt is also a published author of young adult literature. Heydt resides in Chalfont, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia, with his wife, Monika. |
