2011 Division Conferences

Accountability is Fundamental

The mission of Delta Tau Delta is Committed to Lives of Excellence. Our core values include the statement, “Accountability is Fundamental to All Commitments.” This also serves as the theme for the 2011 Division Conferences. What does “Accountability is Fundamental to All Commitments” mean?  Accountability means holding yourself responsible for your words and actions, and also holding others responsible for theirs. Accountability binds us together as a group; it helps us be able to depend on one another. You have pledged as a Delt to devote your time and talents to the betterment of the Fraternity. When asked to give of yourself to Delta Tau Delta and your chapter members, you are putting your accountability on the line.

Delta Tau Delta’s value of accountability makes the bold and necessary statement that you will be held to your word.  By this time in your life, you have probably discovered the consequences of not being true to yourself and to others. Accountability is not a one-sided value. You are responsible for keeping both yourself and your brothers faithful and committed.

We plan to discuss the issue of accountability and its impact on you and your chapter at the upcoming Division Conferences.  We look forward to seeing you!

The 2011 Division Conference season kicks off in Kansas City on January 27 with the Western Plains Division Conference. During the month of February students and alumni of Delta Tau Delta will come together in five cities across the United States to celebrate the Fraternity, learn skills to be a better officer, member, and man, and, of course, meet and learn from each other.
