Alumni Advising Team
To volunteer for an Alumni Advising Team position please fill out our Alumni Volunteer Form.
Role and Purpose of the Alumni Advising Team (AAT)
- Provides the local chapter of Delta Tau Delta with a constant source of stability. Whereas a fraternity's membership will have a 100% turnover every 4-5 years, the advisory board will serve as a consistent resource.
- Acts as a liaison between the undergraduates and the Central Office.
- Exists as a separate entity from the local housing corporation.
- Develops programs to support the chapter's functions. (i.e. chapter scholarship programs, monthly alumni speakers, or any requests of the chapter/colony).
- Assists in officer transitions and mentors officers once in positions.
- Gives alumni the chance to be involved in a positive role with undergraduate members.
Responsibilities of the AAT
- Each advisor will be asked to meet with his undergraduate counterpart(s) periodically throughout the school year.
- The purpose of these meetings will be to keep the advisor up to date on the chapter's progress and for the officers to seek the advice and suggestions on how to improve the chapter.
- Alumni team members must also keep current on new fraternity programs, ideas and operations on the host university's policies and procedures to effectively mentor.
- The AAT meets once a month in order to remain focused on the chapter's goals and visions.
