Rainbow: Zeta Chapters

ZETA BETA
LaGrange College

This semester has been a successful one for Zeta Beta!

In February, we were recognized with a Hugh Shields Award for Chapter Excellence. We pledged, for the first time in five years, a spring pledge class of four men. Our recruitment success under Director of Recruitment Matt Russell was a true embodiment of the effort exerted by our undergraduate brothers.

Our 3.0 grade point average is the highest on campus amongst fraternities and is now higher than that of the male student body. Family Weekend, April 28-30, gave us the chance to have a Bar-B-Q for parents and alumni and also included our annual Cow Patty Bingo fundraiser.

In April, our undergraduate brothers competed in our annual Greek Week and Step Sing competitions, successfully bringing home the Greek Week Championship, and, for the second year in a row, the Step Sing Championship for the small-group performance.

ZETA DELTA
Texas State University

Zeta Delta Chapter is pleased to report our growing organization's successes this semester. The time is coming for Zeta Delta to be a recognized leader at Texas State . This Spring semester we demonstrated strong philanthropic service, a new academic initiative and have continued our competitiveness in sports.

This semester we participated in the biggest philanthropy event at Texas State known as Bobcat Build which had over 2,000 volunteers and more than 80 percent of the Zeta Delta Chapter participated. The chapter won two awards for our performance and involvement during Bobcat Build.

We focused this semester in becoming No. 1 in grades. To help promote this, the men who had the top grade point average and most improved GPA earned a discount in dues the following semester. In the fall, we plan to have our first big brother/ little brother competition in which the top two will receive an award for best combined grades.

We took a pledge class of six who already demonstrated many great qualities and brother Brady Bauer became alumni relations chairman for the Interfraternity Council. Zeta Delta is also sending our first man, Pete Bellino, to the Undergraduate Interfraternity Institution (UIFI) this summer. We would also like to announce brother Crane Sorensen has been accepted as a Chapter Consultant.

ZETA ZETA
Morehead State University

The spring was a rebuilding semester for Zeta Zeta Chapter, but there are signs the chapter is moving upward. Zeta Zeta finished the fall semester ranked second on campus in grades; three members attended a spring break program in Gulfport, Miss., to help rebuild the city; we won Greek Week and dodgeball tournament. Zeta Zeta is working hard to establish a dominant presence on campus and is determined to become the best.

ZETA THETA
Villanova University

Zeta Theta finished the 2005-2006 academic year on yet another strong note. Spring recruitment saw the addition of one of the most productive and influential new classes in the past five years.

Spring semester brought a brand new philanthropy event to Villanova's campus. We co-hosted a wiffleball tournament with the local Alpha Chi Omega chapter and raised $500 for the fight against domestic violence. Zeta Theta continues to be a recognized leader on Villanova's campus as brothers were elected to two out of the six positions on the administrative board of the Intrafraternity Council – president and vice president of judicial affairs.

ZETA LAMBDA
Western Illinois University

The Zeta Lambda Chapter was very busy around campus. In the fall semester the chapter took 12 new members and six during the spring. Our Adopt-A-School program is running strong and the chapter competed in many campus events.

The chapter took second place in Greek Week, which is a series of competitions in which every Greek organization participates. The chapter would like to congratulate sophomore brother Blake E. Antonides for being elected to WIU's Board of Trustees. The chapter is looking forward to the 2006-07 semesters with the new executive board in place.

ZETA OMICRON
University of Central Florida

Spring 2006 proved to be a refreshing, productive semester for Zeta Omicron. We entered the semester boasting both the highest grade point average and most improved grade point average among fraternities.

Launching a new recruitment strategy, Zeta Omicron gained a determined and talented pledge class. With this new momentum, we won Alpha Epsilon Phi's inaugural Bowl-Anthropy, which benefited the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation. We also joined Alpha Delta Pi and Pi Kappa Phi to take impressive third place during Greek Week competition.

Bringing the semester to a well-deserved yet somber end, Zeta Omicron celebrated during our Purple Iris Ball and Senior Send-Off. We look forward to a fun summer, an inspiring brotherhood retreat, and a productive fall semester.

ZETA PI
Indiana University-Pennsylvania

We successfully recruited five new members. We completed the most community service hours on campus with 206 hours, earned through the Adopt-A-Highway program. The inaugural Delt Slugfest 2006, our philanthropy, donated its proceeds to the Indiana County American Red Cross, plus we raised an additional $500 from the sale of spaghetti dinner tickets. We had a meeting with alumnus George Hatchard about plans for renovation of the shelter and the newly established alumnus advisory board.

ZETA RHO
Eastern Illinois University

Community service has been full of activity due to our helping hands with Adopt-A-School, Red Cross Blood Drives, and Habitat for Humanity. Also, there were many alumni who showed their support by gracing us with their presence during Alumni Weekend.

Spring semester was introduced with an astounding execute board turnover. Each officer helped to prepare Zeta Rho for a competitive Greek Week 2006 that was filled with thrilling events. The Zeta Rho Chapter also had members elected as student body president and vice president of academic affairs.

ZETA SIGMA
Texas A&M University

This spring, Zeta Sigma took great strides on our path towards excellence. The Department of Greek Life released the academic reports for of all fraternities in December and Zeta Sigma was pleased to see that within the past year our hard had raised our academic ranking on campus from 10 th to third!

Zeta Sigma also greatly increased our alumni relations this passed semester with the formation of a Chapter Alumni Corporation. This corporation serves to keep the alumni more involved and informed about the undergraduate chapter, as well as create another link to connect more alumni to the chapter. The corporation is a wonderful resource that also proved the alumni's commitment to the chapter.

Zeta Sigma is an exceptional chapter that is growing stronger with every day that passes. We are proud to represent Delta Tau Delta, but more importantly, we are proud to be Delts.

ZETA TAU
University of NC-Wilmington

We at the Zeta Tau Chapter are coming off a strong semester during which we won Greek Week and placed second in the Intrerfraternity Council Talent Show. We held our 3rd Annual McGregor 5K race and raised more than $3,000 for our scholarship fund. We won chapter excellence for our philanthropic efforts with the 5K. We held our first alumni weekend in many years and it proved very successful with more than 50 alumni participating.

ZETA CHI
University of Southern Mississippi

This semester served as a transition for Zeta Chi. We had a summit January 15, during which we addressed many issues that our chapter was facing. We accounted for what our chapter needed to do, in order to make this semester great. We focused on our biggest problems – recruitment and grades.

We received our grades early in February. Our chapter moved up in the rankings from 11th to fifth.

With our huge improvement in our academics, we focused on our philanthropy and our 15 th Annual Cystic Fibrosis Sports Challenge. This year we raised more than $15,000 for the fight against Cystic Fibrosis. The event was held along with the local Pi Beta Phi chapter March 25. This year marked the first time in recent years Zeta Chi alumni participated in the Challenge.

In April our chapter had its 20th Anniversary. International President Carl Brantley, Southern Division President Jody Danneman and Executive Vice President Jim Russell joined us for the celebration. The 20 th Anniversary consisted of many events to bring the alumni and active chapter closer together, including a performance of the Ritual and initiation of six men.

ZETA OMEGA
Bradley University

Zeta Omega earned its sixth Hugh Shields Award for Excellence and also received the Ed King Award for fraternity success, given by Bradley University 's Interfraternity Council to the leading fraternity on campus. We look forward to hosting the alumni, their families, and other distinguished guests at our 20 th Anniversary Celebration on April 14, 2007.

Zeta Omega planned and executed the Lucky Boys Confusion Concert in the fall that raised money for Habitat for Humanity. We were also involved in other philanthropies, including Adopt-a-School and Red Cross blood drives, and several other organizations and philanthropies on Bradley's campus.
