Theta Chapters

THETA DELTA
Baylor University

The Theta Delta Chapter has two members who hold an office in the Intrafraternity Council: Steven Hofer is the vice president of finance and Jason Phipps is the vice president of new member education. The Theta Delta Chapter has a grade point average of 3.01 and holds study groups for people in the same classes two days before the test.

On April 8, the chapter was awarded with a distinguished participant award from Adopt-a-Highway. We adopted our stretch of 10 years ago and continue to maintain it. The chapter was also voted the group of the year at our philanthropy, Waco Center for the Youth. Our new members have already hit the ground running and are getting involved in every aspect of the chapter.

THETA EPSILON
American University

Theta Epsilon received the Hugh Shields Award for Excellence in February and former President Jesse Epstein won the “President of the Year” award at the Southern Division Leadership Conference. American University had 24 members, the highest delegation of any school at the conference.

The chapter continued its academic excellence, with a grade point average higher than both the all-male average and all-fraternity average. Additionally, the chapter continued its excellence on campus, winning the university's Chapter of the Year Award and Risk Reduction Award.

Theta Epsilon has continued its program at its Adopt-A-School, Amidon Elementary School in downtown Washington and has organized meals at Armand's benefiting the brain tumor society. The chapter is truly proving that strengthening the community is essential to our vitality. This spring, Recruitment Chairman Matthew Redding brought in 15 new brothers, helping Theta Epsilon become the biggest fraternity on campus. With the nine new members from the fall and the 15 new brothers this spring, chapter's dedication towards recruitment will ensure great pledge classes for years.

THETA GAMMA Crescent Colony
Arizona State University

It has been a busy year for the Theta Gamma Crescent Colony at Arizona State University as we prepare to petition for our charter this coming fall.

Recently, we celebrated at our Delt formal in which we presented the Richard Schmidt Community Service Award, named for our tireless advisor. Community Service has been an area in which Theta Gamma has excelled. We have also had many leadership opportunities: our current vice president attended Futures Quest and our secretary and alumni relations directors attended the inaugural Capital Leadership Academy . Several of us attended the Western Pacific Division Leadership Conference where Ryan Spurlock was awarded as outstanding treasurer.

Recruitment is our lifeblood and we utilized an innovative recruitment tool by involving the greater Greek Community. Sororities competed against each other in a contest to produce names of potential rushees and we more than tripled our pledge class. We also look forward to our chartering and full initiation into Delta Tau Delta.

THETA ZETA
University of San Diego

It has been another very active and very successful semester for Theta Zeta.

In December, the chapter hosted its inaugural Delta Queen event. It was a smashing success, with Miss Gamma Phi Beta capturing the crown. More importantly, Theta Zeta raised more than $20,000 for the Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund.

After one of our brothers was diagnosed with cancer, Theta Zeta created the Bleed Purple Foundation. This non-profit organization provides financial relief to members of Greek-letter organizations who are battling cancer. To learn more about Bleed Purple, or to make a donation, please visit www.bleedpurple.org.

Theta Zeta's spring recruitment was also very successful, with a 27-man pledge class, Alpha Mu. It was the second-largest fraternity pledge class at USD, and continued Theta Zeta's growth and prosperity.

Finally, Theta Zeta received the prestigious Court of Honor Award, given to approximately the top 20 percent of Delt Chapters across the country, at the Western Pacific Division Leadership Conference. It was truly an honor. Also, please visit us at our chapter website. Go Delt!

THETA ETA
University of South Carolina

The Theta Eta Chapter did not submit a chapter report for the spring semester. Please contact chapter president Andrew Auld or at 803-240-6295 for more information about this chapter.

THETA KAPPA
University of Nebraska-Kearney

Theta Kappa had a busy semester, starting with the news the chapter earned the highest grade point average for of all fraternity's at Kearney during the fall. The men have also been busy repainting the shelter for parent's day as well as laying brick for a patio. We had a silent action during parent's day which raised $450.

We have also been busy with intramurals as well. The Delta Force hockey team won the hockey championship for the second consecutive year.

THETA LAMBDA
UC-Riverside

The brothers of Theta Lambda excelled in our philanthropic efforts this year. Our Adopt-A-School program expanded to include a local middle school and the high school we have served for years.

Also, Brother Jimmy Ancheta's tireless efforts made our Fifth Annual Delta Queen Pageant a success. Ten sororities participated and campus involvement and excitement reached its highest point yet for the event which was dedicated to the memory of our brother Jeremy Harrison. In his honor, we will be donating more than $10,000 to the City of Hope Cancer Research Center.

Additionally, the cumulative grade point average of the brothers of Theta Lambda reached its highest point in years. The rise in grades comes after the implementation of group study hours and brother-to-brother assistance.

THETA XI
Eastern Michigan University

The 2006 Greek Awards Banquet at Eastern Michigan University displayed the performance of Theta Xi Chapter over the past year with its accomplishments rewarded with several awards: Chapter of the Year (for the second consecutive year), All-Campus Academic Trophy for the highest grade point average among all Greeks and All-Campus Athletic Champions.

The Chapter of the Year recognition comes after a meeting with faculty, staff, alumni and members from the Ypsilanti Community to talk about what we established as our five areas of excellence: Leadership Development, Citizenship, Positive Relationships, Intellectual Development and Values Integration. The “judges” then combined scores and evaluated our performance over the past year. We scored perfecdt n all but one category.

We want to congratulate the 13 seniors who just graduated and wish them our best as recent alumni of Theta Xi. Any other questions or comments can be directed to Trevor Allen ( tallen5@emich.edu ), President of Theta Xi Chapter.

THETA OMICRON
University of Northern Colorado

It has been a memorable year Theta Omicron. Highlighting this year's accomplishments, Theta Omicron received the Hugh Shields Award for Chapter Excellence. It was only proper Theta Omicron celebrate their new flag with alumni at the chapter's 10th annual Founder's Day celebration.

Such success is founded by the strong Theta Omicron presence throughout its campus and the city of Greeley. Brother Bryson Rains organized a charity golf tournament, raising $3,300 for the American Diabetes Association. Members visited students at Scott Elementary for an anti-smoking presentation and donated blood at the North Colorado Medical Center.

Many members participate in outside aspects of student life, including student government, the university newspaper and numerous clubs and organizations throughout campus. With a high percentage of the chapter's pledges being initiated, Theta Omicron plans to continue its excellence streak for years to come.

THETA RHO
University of Dayton

Theta Rho is planning a special alumni weekend in the fall semester of 2006 for its 10-year anniversary. Our Alumni Golf Outing held April 22, 2006 at Pipestone Golf Course was a huge success.

Theta Rho would also like to thank James Fugate, our recently retired alumni advisor, for his years of guidance, support and dedication. Theta Rho would not have had its success and be where it is today without his leadership and commitment to Delts.

Theta Rho's Shelter is expecting over $6,500 worth of improvements from the university, along with generous donations that will include a dishwasher, washer and dryer, a kitchen table and new furniture for the house.

Theta Rho continues its dominance in intramurals as we capture the Fraternity Cup once again. Not only are we scholars, but excel in athletics on the field with great teamwork and brotherhood.

THETA TAU
Moravian College

Theta Tau is pleased to report a productive semester.

At the Eastern Division Leadership Conference in February in Philadelphiatwo Theta Tau alumni, Bill Onofry (2000) and Scott Heydt (2001) were both installed as division vice presidents. Theta Tau brother Omar Ramirez was appointed to the Undergraduate Council and he and Kip Knauer were selected for the Fraternity's Summer Sailing Leadership Academy .

We initiated 13 men this spring and on April 30 held the Third Annual Christopher Seifert Memorial Golf Tournament. The event, in honor of Theta Tau alumnus Capt. Christopher Seifert (2001) who was killed in Operation Iraqi Freedom March 2003, raised more than $10,000, bringing the total to nearly $30,000.

THETA CHI
Muhlenberg College

We received many awards at the Eastern Division Leadership Conference including receiving Court of Honor recognition. We were also awarded with the Dean's Cup, the award granted to the best overall Greek Organization at Muhlenberg College.

Theta Chi sustained its excellence in academics with one of the highest grade point averages on campus. Also, we continued to excel in our philanthropic efforts with our Adopt-A-School program and our annual dodgeball tournament that raised a large amount of money for the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund. Our Brothers continue to be heavily involved in many organizations on campus raging from Student Government to advisors to the Board of Trustees.

THETA PSI
Albertson College of Idaho

Theta Psi continues in role as leaders on campus. Many of our officers hold positions in campus activities and organizations such as Peer Mentors, Swing Dance Club, the Debate team, student government, Boxing Club, Greek Council, the Gay Straight Campus Alliance and others. Brother Kent Gneiting graduated this spring as the first commissioned army officer from ACI ROTC.

Theta Psi threw an amazing event this past December – our annual Winter Charity Ball, this year in conjunction with the Swing Dance Club – to benefit Toys for Tots. More than 200 people came and the music was amazing.

Finally, Morgan Fredericksen continues to revive the ACI Boxing Club. Morgan is a great leader and a diligent member of the squad, practicing and training every weekday and most weekends.
