Iota Chapters
IOTA BETA
Wittenberg University
This has been an extremely successful year for our chapter. The men of Iota Beta chapter are active in every aspect of campus life. We are involved in varsity athletics, Greek organizations, political clubs and student senate.
We surpassed our recruitment goals and initiated 22 members this year. We have also succeeded academically this year with a 3.05 grade point average, which is second on campus.
We have also had many individual successes. Brother Brian DeSantis, chapter vice president, was awarded the campus Alma Lux. This was a not only an individual success but it also showed the type of men our chapter produces. Brother Eric Rey, chapter president, has recently led the Wittenberg University Mock Trial Team to Nationals for the first time.
IOTA GAMMA
Wright State University
Iota Gamma had the second highest cumulative grade point average on campus with a 2.94. Academic drafts are held each quarter so teams of Delts can help each other with classes. The team with the highest grade point average at the end of the term wins a free dinner. Those members having problems also attend study tables.
Philanthropy Chairman Cory Earl jumped head first into the position. He involved the chapter in an Adopt-a-School, Project: Linus, where the chapter made blankets for homeless children, and Relay for Life during which the chapter raised approximately $1,200 for the American Cancer Society. The Delts hold three Greek Affairs Council positions including president and two Interfraternity Council spots.
The Delts also represented during the annual Mr. WSU pageant. Craig Shumaker finished seventh of thirty contestants.
IOTA DELTA
Quincy University
Iota Delta has had an exciting semester. Many great men expressed interest in our Fraternity and we are pleased to have seven new members. With the new recruits, we have doubled the size of our chapter. Now 22 undergraduates, 15 of whom will return in the fall, we are approaching next semester with renewed enthusiasm.
A retreat served as an excellent opportunity to focus this energy, establish goals, set plans of action and strengthen our bonds. That energy resulted in much activity including our formal weekend, which was an exciting way to bring the semester to a close. Our brothers also sought to serve the community and strengthen university relationships by working with another Greek organization to host a blood drive.
IOTA EPSILON
Chapman University
During our usually stagnant spring rush, we managed to initiate six men. Throughout the year, these new classes —Kappa (15 men) and Lambda — have pushed us to higher standards. Due to our growth to more than 50 men, we were forced to restructure our executive and administrative boards to accommodate.
Specifically, we created two additional vice presidential offices — finance and communications — to our executive board. Committee directors were reorganized under these new vice presidents to spread the programming load evenly among committees.
Our academics remain one of our strongest points, as reflected in our newly legislated minimum grade point average of 2.75. Though much of our programming efforts were sacrificed for those focused on maintaining the integrity and morale of the chapter, we have begun planning for our own Delta Queen pageant next fall. This event promises to be one of our largest but most rewarding programming efforts yet.
IOTA ZETA
Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University
The brothers of Iota Zeta had a very successful semester this spring. It began with a strong recruitment period – welcoming six new members and deferring two others to fall. The momentum from recruitment carried into a brotherhood retreat that facilitated bonding between new initiates and their new brothers early in the semester.
A month later, 10 brothers headed for Atlanta for the Southern Division Leadership Conference marking our largest delegation thus far for a division conference. Iota Zeta was recognized at the conference for having an outstanding grade point average, Adopt-A-School participation and our ritual education program. Iota Zeta has invested more than 235 volunteer hours giving back to our community.
Also, we recently had a great turnout to our annual alumni BBQ weekend. With the end of the semester approaching, we find ourselves wishing another group of departing seniors the best of luck in their future endeavors.
IOTA ETA
Belmont Abbey College
The Iota Eta Chapter did not submit a chapter report for the fall semester. Please contact chapter president Daniel Butler or at 864-444-1443 for more information about this chapter.
IOTA THETA
Kennesaw State University
A year and a half after chartering, the brothers of Iota Theta here at Kennesaw State University have had a successful year. Even while facing chapter issues head-on, the Iota Theta Delts have maintained the level of excellence on campus that KSU students have come to expect. Most recently, we held a very successful philanthropy event called the Delt Date Auction where we exceeded our goals by raising over $2000. Also, the Delts have won Greek Week for the 3 rd consecutive time, beating all other Greek organizations on campus. In addition, individual brothers have been recognized as “Student of the Year” and “RA of the Year” by the university. In addition, Iota Theta has won “Greek Organization of the Year” three times in a row.
The brothers are excited about the future and are committed to staying leaders on campus.
