Epsilon Chapters

EPSILON ALPHA
Auburn University

The Epsilon Alpha Chapter is making headway. There seems to be an energizing atmosphere surrounding the brothers and they have been working hard to change a disastrous past. Southern Division provided all 12 brothers who went a new outlook. Performing Ritual at Southern Division defiantly had an impact on everyone's attitude and gave the whole chapter a sense of pride and honor to be given the opportunity to perform something sacred. Epsilon Alpha initiated 15 for the 2005-2006 school year, which has not been done since 1984, providing rewards for motivation.

Awards bring in tangible evidence a chapter is achieving and this year the Interfraternity Council recognized the Epsilon Alpha Chapter with the highest awards in community service, risk management, campus involvement and the overall best small chapter. Between the number of brotherhood events, such as a ski trip, camping trips, Panama City trip and alumnus, Gary Hodgins (1974), teaching a self defense class and providing a “movie night” it seems the chapter is not only growing but the brotherhood is getting stronger as well.

EPSILON BETA
Texas Christian University

The Delts at TCU have been doing extremely well and because of a highly motivated chapter have accomplished a lot. Our Adopt-A-School program at Lily B. Clayton is flourishing with more brothers participating than in the recent past. We have also been increasing our chapter's community service by volunteering at a local food bank.

With all of this success, we felt the shelter needed some work. With hard work, the brothers installed new doors and began a renovation on the chapter room, painted the hallways and adorned the stairwell with our letters. The work to the shelter is not done and will continually be improved.

In our 50th year, we realized just how hard our alumni worked to make this chapter what it is, and so, we held our inaugural Initiation Banquet. It is designed to show all of our great alumni the recent initiates to Epsilon Beta. Along with the banquet we held our Ninth Annual Alumni Golf Tournament.

EPSILON GAMMA
Washington State University

Epsilon Gamma continues to strengthen its chapter by increasing its size. During the 2005-06 school year, 15 members joined and one man is currently pledging.

This year has also seen the brothers take several leadership positions on campus. Isaac Wells is finishing his term as president for the Association of Students, the largest student organization on campus, and Tommy Simmons was recently elected president of the Student Entertainment Board, the second largest organization. Mike Connery also served a term as Interfraternity Council president.

We are currently planning for our 50 th anniversary that will be held in Pullman , Wash. , next fall from September 30 to October 1, 2006. For any information about the event please contact Joe Wyatt.

EPSILON DELTA
Texas Tech University

This semester marked another successful semester for Epsilon Delta as we demonstrated leadership in the Texas Tech Greek Community in community service, philanthropy and fundraising. We logged more than 1,000 community service hours, which was the most in the history of the Texas Tech Greek Community. Our annual philanthropy event, A League of Their Own Softball Tournament, raised more than $3,000 for the Children's Home of Lubbock.

This semester, we also initiated 11 members, which was the second largest spring pledge class on campus. This summer will be filled with rush events in Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. More information will be distributed in the Delt Dispatch through the alumni association. Our brotherhood is more than 100 members strong and we are a growing organization.

EPSILON EPSILON
University of Arizona

The Arizona Delts had a very positive and exciting school year. During the 2005-2006 year we have welcomed 41 new brothers. In the Spring semester, during our week-long philanthropy, Delt Games, we raised more than $4,000 for the Brewster Club, a women's shelter, and brought in more than 1,000 pounds of food for a local food bank.

At the end of the semester the Interfraternity and Panhelenic Council recognized Epsilon Epsilon as the university's most improved chapter. We would like to thank our outgoing house corporation president, Paul Efron, for all of his hard work and dedication over the past couple of years. A big thank you also goes to chapter advisor, Jay Sanders, for his efforts in making Epsilon Epsilon a chapter we are proud to be a part of.

EPSILON ZETA
Sam Houston State University

The semester started on a successful note when we were awarded the Most Improved Chapter Award at the Western Plains Leadership Conference in St. Louis along with an award for academics and chapter growth.

We were also nominated by students, faculty and staff at SHSU as the best social fraternity on campus at the annual Sammy Awards Banquet. Undergraduate members participated in more than 200 hours of community service events and programs such as the Adopt-A-Highway. Along with the women of Alpha Delta Pi, we played host to a blood drive in which more than 150 pints of blood were donated.

Along with the Esquire/Delta Tau Delta Memorial Scholarship, in which every member achieving over a 3.0 grade point average receives a scholarship, many new academic incentives were put in place. For every test grade of an “A” a member receives they are granted a $5 gift certificate to a local restaurant.

We recently held our Delta Tau Delta Invitational Golf Tournament, in which approximately 80 alumni and undergraduate members attended, making it not only a great reunion but an extremely successful fundraiser.

EPSILON ETA
Texas A & M – Commerce

Spring 2006 was a trying but solidifying semester for the brotherhood of Epsilon Eta. EH suffered from low recruitment numbers from the recent implementation of deferred rush on campus but found success in a 100-percent initiation rate. EH looks forward to a challenging but successful rush this fall under the leadership of Rush Chairman Joel Broker. Jeris Hall retains his position as Interfraternity Council president through August, while Carson Holmes was nominated for a position on the IFC board for the upcoming year.

EH had a huge success with its 45 th anniversary in January and its annual BS Open Alumni Golf Tournament on April 29. Both events proved to be great opportunities for undergraduates and alumni from four decades to share stories and memories of their experiences as proud Delts of ol' ET.

EPSILON IOTA — A
Kettering University

The members of the Epsilon Iota-A Chapter want to extend their best wishes to its recent graduates and offer a welcome to the five newest members of chapter: Robert Escot, Bradley Kabert, Michael Koscis, Brandon Shultz and Stephen Svirbly. We would also like to give special recognition to graduating senior Kevin Wolter, who will be completing his MBA at the Harvard Business School.

Our successes academically and athletically are shadowed only by our continued involvement in the community. In fact, thanks to junior Leo Glenn Manlongat, the local news media recently showcased our participation with the restoration of The Children's Museum. This summer, we will be holding our annual Parents Luncheon and Auction – an event which last raised $1,800 for St. Jude Children's Hospital.

The Brotherhood is growing increasingly strong and close.

EPSILON IOTA — B
Kettering University

Once again Epsilon Iota B is in the busy mix of school and work. We had an 89.6 weighted average grade, translating into about a 3.8 grade point average.

This upcoming term should see the pledging of 20 potential members, one of the largest classes in years. We currently have 47 members and are regrettably parting ways with four seniors.

President Jeremy Baker is the Interfraternity Council president. We have many others around campus in leadership positions: David Blankenship as station manager of Kettering University Radio Station 94.3 FM; Greg Semrau is the vice president and tournament coordinator of the KU Frisbee Club; Tim Moyer is the Firebirds Race Club President; Xiaowei Ng is the Soccer Club president and is the Asian-American Association vice president. We also have three members joining Phi Eta Sigma.

We are very active in Adopt-A-School with a local Flint middle school, one that truly is thankful and needing of our help. We have made our presence in the community known by aiding a local children's museum and we are active in house renovation with Paint-A-House and Habitat for Humanity.

EPSILON MU
Ball State University

Epsilon Mu Chapter had an impressive school year. We are proud to welcome our 21 initiates into our brotherhood. With more than 1,000 community service house in conjunction with the Jacob's Home, Muncie Children's Museum, and Adopt-A-School, Epsilon Mu has rededicated itself to the Muncie community.

Shane Pyne, newly elected Order of Omega president, is one of many who exemplify the values of our Fraternity. Our annual philanthropy, The Watermelon Bust, earned more than $9,500 for cancer research and The American Red Cross, and thus enabled us to receive Ball State 's philanthropy Greek Excellence award.

Epsilon Mu will celebrate its 40th Anniversary in November. We encourage all Delts to join as we build upon our bright past as we move towards a brilliant future.

EPSILON NU
University of Missouri-Rolla

The Epsilon Nu Chapter continued its strive for excellence this year in growth, philanthropy and leadership. We had 10 amazing initiates this year, and they contributed their time and talents to the shelter by building a set of benches and tables for our deck.

Every undergraduate has participated in Adopt-a-School for both semesters this year, including an Easter egg hunt we put on for the local elementary school. Michael Scherr, a graduating senior, received fourth place in Kappa Delta's Campus Man competition that raised money to help prevent child abuse.

Epsilon Nu chapter had three more undergraduates accepted into the Order of Omega, giving us more members in that honorary society than any other organization at the University of Missouri-Rolla. Our chapter is looking forward to next homecoming, when we will be celebrating the 40 th anniversary.

EPSILON XI
Western Kentucky University

Epsilon Xi followed its great fall semester with another great spring semester. The highlight of the semester of was winning the “Horizon Award” for the most improved chapter at the Southern Division Leadership Conference in Atlanta.

The chapter also made a strong showing in Greek Week. For the first time in recent memory, the chapter fielded a strong tug-of-war team as well as participated in “Spring Sing,” blood drive, events day and all the other Greek Week activities.

The members of Epsilon Xi continue to stay involved in other campus groups. Paul Newton is the treasurer for the Interfraternity Council and Phillip Clark is president of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

On June 24, Epsilon Xi holds its annual summer golf outing in Alvaton, Ky. Also, on October 27-29, Epsilon Xi will celebrate its 40th anniversary during Western Kentucky 's Homecoming weekend. For information on either event or the chapter as a whole, please contact the chapter or visit our website.

EPSILON OMICRON
Colorado State University

We look back at all the things we accomplished this year. The biggest accomplishment was receiving the Hugh Shields Award for Chapter Excellence. It is the first time Epsilon Omicron earned this award. If it wasn't for the close bond and tightness of brotherhood, we wouldn't have been able to work together so well.

Epsilon Omicron was been involved with the campus more than ever. We have five members of this chapter on the Interfraternity Council. As a chapter, we are recognized as a leader among the other chapters on campus. We have even formed a special bond with Pi Kappa Phi, holding joint social events and just as a group of friends.

EPSILON UPSILON
Marietta College

The Delts at Marietta College experienced a tremendous year as a result of improvements made within the chapter. Our growing numbers allowed us to involve more brothers and placing brothers in positions where they are best suited led to a vast improvement in a number of areas.

We have a new academic plan, a fully functioning honor board, a new monthly alumni publication, a topnotch website, a stellar Ritual team and a very active committee structure. These improvements led to a successful and ongoing recruitment campaign. We are the largest fraternity on campus with 49 members who are just as active outside the shelter.

Four brothers campaigned successfully for Student Body Senate – Nick Aylward (treasurer), Brian Ashton (vice president), Will Kauff (senator) and David Borelli (senator) – and replace several Delts whose terms are complete. Chapter president Craig Sundstrom, is also the musical entertainment chair for the College Union Board along with John "Goose" Kittson, the comedy chair and Justin Rosenberg, the tournament chair. Both John and Justin also sit on Interfraternity Conference as the publicity chair and vice president respectively.

EPSILON PHI
Southeastern Louisiana University

Alumni support and participation are at an all-time high. Our third annual Tom Sharp Golf Tournament was a major success and, from the alumni standpoint, the current chapter mirrors the chapter when Epsilon Phi was founded in 1969.

Academics have been a burden for Epsilon Phi for some time. We lead the Greek community in everything but academics. We believe that this semester will be an example of how hard work and new ideas pay

We are also continuing to show how we can be leaders on campus by holding many elected positions. The leadership on campus is an example of what it means to devote your time and talents as a Delt.

The university recently awarded Epsilon Phi with the following awards:

  • Intramural Sports and Wellness Award (Most Points in Intramural Sports)
  • Outstanding Greek Male Intramural Athlete (Derek Roth)
  • Outstanding Chapter Advisor (Gene Pregeant)
  • Outstanding Community Service
  • Outstanding Alumni Relations Education Program
  • Overall Greek Week Champions

EPSILON OMEGA CRESCENT COLONY
Georgia Southern University

The dream has become a reality for the Epsilon Omega Crescent Colony. On March 4, 27 men pledged Delta Tau Delta. The men have all attained colony active status and look forward to a successful rush and our first pledge class during the fall. The colony has an active housing corporation in which each member is already donating monthly towards a future shelter.

Many of the members are actively involved on campus. Bert Noble is managing editor for the student newspaper. Brad Boykin, Joey Newton and Larry Cloud are all members of the prestigious summer orientation team. Many members are involved with Southern Ambassadors, the student recruitment team with which Ross Davis is a member of the executive board. Joseph Law is a veteran of the Iraq war. The men are off to a fast start and have brought instant recognition to Delta Tau Delta.

The chemistry of the group has grown and the men went on a weekend-long brotherhood retreat, the retreat was followed by a date night and, despite all of this activity, the men boast an aggregate grade point average of 3.36, significantly higher than any other Greek organization on campus.
