Jim Selzer

Treasurer

Jim Selzer was elected treasurer of the Fraternity at the Indianapolis Karnea in 2006. He was first elected to the Arch Chapter in 1995 as president of the Western Plains Division. He served from 1995 to 1999 as the chair of the Committee on Chapters of the Arch Chapter. At the 2004 Karnea in Denver, Selzer was elected secretary of the Fraternity.

As an alumnus of Delta Tau Delta, Selzer has served in a number of capacities with the Fraternity. He was a resident advisor for Gamma Rho Chapter from 1971 to 1974. He served on the house corporation of Gamma Theta from 1974 to 1986. He served as division vice president for the Western Division from 1988 to 1996. Selzer was cited to the Distinguished Service Chapter in 2000.

Professionally, Selzer is a lawyer with Stinson, Morrison, Hecker LLP in Kansas City, where his practice focuses on corporate finance and securities. Selzer is a member of the executive committee of Stinson, Morrison, Hecker LLP, a 350-attorney law firm based in Kansas City with offices across the country.

Selzer is a graduate of Baker University where he earned a B.S. in physics and math. Upon graduation, Selzer studied biology and physics at Albert Ludwig Universitat in Freiberg, Germany, as a Fulbright Scholar. Selzer continued his studies in molecular biology and physics, earning an M.A. at the University of Oregon in 1974. In a transition, Selzer completed his J.D. at the University of Kansas in 1977.

As an undergraduate, Selzer served as vice president and president of Gamma Theta Chapter and served on the first Undergraduate Council in 1969/1970.

Selzer currently lives in Lee’s Summit, Missouri with his wife, Barbara, and his sons, Bryan and Kevin, both undergraduates at Truman State University.
