Travis Rockey
Vice President
Travis Rockey was elected vice president of the Fraternity at the 2006 Karnea in Indianapolis. His service on the Arch Chapter began in 2003 when he was appointed the Fraternity’s treasurer. He was elected to his own term as treasurer by the 2004 Denver Karnea.
As a Delta Tau Delta alumnus, Rockey has served as chapter advisor for Delta Mu Chapter, division vice president, DTAA trainer, chairman of the Publications Advisory Board, and secretary of the Delta Tau Delta Educational Foundation.
Professionally, Rockey is the executive vice president of Evening Post Publishing Company, a privately held information company with approximately 1,800 employees headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina. Rockey has served on board of directors and committees of various newspaper associations. He has also served on the board of directors of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and was chairman of two NAB committees. He has testified before the US Senate Commerce Committee on various broadcast related issues.
Past civic and social activities include president, United Way, Cambridge, Maryland; board chairman, Salvation Army, Cambridge, Maryland; board of directors, Trident United Way, Charleston, South Carolina.
Born in Detroit, Rockey received his BS degree in advertising from the University of Florida in 1973, MS in personnel and industrial relations from Winthrop University in 1979 and MS in mass communications from Indiana University in 1987.
Rockey resides in Charleston, South Carolina with his wife. Their son is a senior at Washington State University in Pullman. |
